Barangay Officials duties and responsibilities
Barangay Elections will commence on October 25th this year. The Comelec already issued the deadline of filling of the Certificate of Candidacy of those who want to be Barangay Captains and Kagawads (Councilor). This will start on October 1 and end on October 13. The campaign period for the Barangay and SK polls, meanwhile, will start October 14, 2010 and will run until October 23, 2010. If your existing Barangay Offiicials do not do their respective duties in your community then you must not vote for them again.

If ever may project ang brgy captain na hindi naman po importante possible po ba na pwedeng hindi pumirma ang brgy kagawad sa propose project na yun?

24/7 ang duties ng aming Punong barangay Ramil Caseda dito sa barangay Cuta Batangas city. mas mahaba ang oras niya sa barangay kaysa sariling pamilya.. kahit hating gabi at madaling araw basta may tawag sa barangay ay pumupunta agad siya.
Wala po bang kakayahan ang brgy na mag pasara ng isang establishment kung ito ay nakakapinsala sa kalusugan ng mamayan.? Nag karoon na po na brgy hearing tungkol sa pinipetisyon at ngkasundo na iyon ay isasara ngunt hnd po ntupad, nagfollow up po aq at ang sbi po ng konsehal na nka assign wla dw kakayanan ang brgy mag pahinto. Ask ko lang po kung hindi po talaga pwede kausapin ang barangay captain or kunin ang cell number nya para matanong po right away? Kasi po may hinihingi kami certification nagusap po kami both parties at nag ok sya na pipirmahan..pagbalik kopo di daw piniramahan ni kapitan..kaya kopo sana kinukuha ying number para malaman agadagad yung panig nya..pero pinagpasapasahan ako ng mga secretary nya at iba pa barangay official.imber na ibigay po number nya..para po lasi na deny yung rights ko na kausapin ang kapotan namin..tnx

and how will it go because the personnel who is in charge of the money got sick. She said she didnt want to transact in her house out of office hours and no one will receive the payment after friday of the week, only during office hours. But i said i am working every mondays to fridays. My free time is only weekends. I said if its ok that we do the transaction in her house, i would be willing to for my convenience. So, from that time until 4 months ago today, the transaction was done inside the house of the barangay treasurer. My partner is paying and i get the money. In the first month, payment is ok but the next succeeding months was not as agreed with the ‘Lupons’. I said ok, maybe i try to come every end of the month so i get the money good for 4 weeks (2k/week). After that, i never get the money as a whole. I was so upset because i was trying to patch up my debts too with that money i receive every month. I loaned it in one of the cooperatives so i am paying it too. I dont know what is behind this situation. I cannot tell if there are some malicious acts happening during my absence because the transaction is within this ‘girl’s house. I filed my leave from work to allot a time to speak to the authorized person in the barangay. This time the barangay hall is already renovated. I relayed my concern to the barangay secretary. She was very accommodating. She called ‘the girl’ (brgy treasurer) through phone because that time she was absent. I didnt hear their conversation because the sec went out while speaking to her. The sec went back and provided me the authenticated copy of our cert of agreement in the barangay. After 4 days i went back to follow up the payment(saturday). I saw this treasurer staring at me without smiling. I talked to the sec and by this time she speaks sarcastically. I know now what happened. They are working in the same place so whoelse will defend each other. My hope of my case is slowly depreciating. I worked so hard for my money knowing that i am a single parent. My point is, if such situations like renovations of the hall, are there any barangay officials present to monitor their personnels? Isnt it that barangay is open 24/7 although this officials are in their houses, can they assign somebody else for the day who is authorized to transact especially during weekends? Isn’t it that transaction must only be within the office to avoid other illegal transactions although partly i allowed it because i have no choice? Do they have other considerations for my situation? Where is the barangay captain? What is his role on this?

First of all I understand your concerns. Unfortunately, just like you I am also an ordinary citizen. I can’t answer all your inquiries. But, I suggest that you visit the Barangay Bureau of Las Pinas and inform them of what happened. They are the one who handles Barangay officials.
I had a problem with my business partner in lending 9 months ago. I invested around 80k and my partner is in charge of the lending. We started the business April last year. In the last years succeeding months, the flow of the business is smooth and easy. Because my partner is no longer remiiting the money faithfully, I decided to raise my problem with the barangay (somewhere las pinas). Since the barangay hall was under renovation that time, we had our hearing and settlement under the supervision of some barangay kagawads in a temporary place. We agreed that she will be paying 2k per week until december this year. Because my work is in quezon city and i am only free on weekends, I requested that i will be coming every saturday morning. And one of the barangay personnel is available in that time. So as agreed, I was hoping that i will be receiving the money during saturdays. But the said personnel got sick and i have learned that he was advised by the doctor to stay home. So, my problem now is who will be in charge of the money. I only speak with few barangay tanods and said this ‘girl’ who is the barangay treasurer will be handling the money. Since that was Saturday, one of the barangay tanods accompanied me in this ‘girl’s house. My purpose was to ask how was my case goin b
