Career moving on, is it all about the money?
I am sad to hear that 2 of my favorite singers were moving on from ABS-CBN Channel 2 to GMA7. I couldn’t believe it myself when I heard it, I thought that it’s only a humor but when I saw Mark Bautista singing in the new musical variety show called “Party Pilipinas”, then that’s the only time I believed.
Now, Rachell Ann Go was allegedly will join Party Pilipinas also. Both of them were a mainstay of ASAP that aired for almost 15 years (ASAP has a same time slot as Party Pilipinas). Rachel Ann and Mark were both talent of VIVA and both of them won in a singing contest.
ABS-CBN made them good artists, and they both grew well in this station. Besides, if not with ABS-CBN and The Filipino Channel (TFC), I think they will not be known outside of the Philippines. As far as I know only artists from ABS CBN were known by foreign audiences (ex. Willlie Revillame, Christian Bautista and many more)
I am sorry, but I can’t find any reason why they should move from GMA7. Yes, GMA can also create good artists and they can also make them popular in a flash (like Marian Rivera) but their audiences are limited in the Philippines only.
The ONLY reason I can think off for them to move on was a bigger talent fee, and no one can argue with that.
I also can relate to that. I was working before in a HUGE and well known company. I’ve learned a lot to them, and I owe them the knowledge I had in the marketing world. If not from this company I am nothing (yes, truly!) They thought me how to become professional in every aspect of my life. The only problem I had with them was the salary. I know I worked hard to get the promotion I deserve, and yes I got the position I always wanted but the salary is not fair enough. That is why when I heard that the competitor (a new one but is doing well in the market) was looking for people and were offering fair salary I didn’t think twice but accepted it.
People from my previous company got mad when they heard about it (of course, it’s a competitor). But what can I do, I just got married that time and needed to save up for my upcoming family. But as what they said, people are not always satisfied with what they have. Yes, I got the salary I wanted but the experience I had from my previous company is VERY different from the new one. I tell you if ever I will start with this new company first maybe I wouldn’t know ANYTHING. I can’t imagine how did my superior got her position as a manager in the first place, she can’t even compose a business sentence and can’t even report confidently in front of other people. She needs to ask me or other people to do it for her, and she ended up crying if we refused.
In short, you can never get everything you want, and also people are not satisfied with what they have.
I don’t regret anything that has happened in my life, I learned through my mistakes and I know I became a better person because of them. I just wish Good luck to Mark Bautista and Rachell Ann Go and to other people who are thinking to move on with their career.
what ever happens in life we should always remember to live life to the fullest

The two both came from GMA pior to them joining ABS. , I had no idea who they were at all until I watched them on ASAP. My sister watched PP and she said that Mark Bautista still had the same exposure he had while on ASAP. Well, if it is all for the money, then go. That I believe was Ruffa’s decision moving to ABC 5.
