ToyCon PH 2018: PopLife Fan Experience Overview

Every year in the Philippines, toy collectors and comics fans gather for ToyCon. My geek husband and son are both looking forward for this event every year, it’s our 3rd year to attend it (that’s ever since they moved to SMX MOA which is more convenient for us).

It was unfortunate that it was raining hard this year’s convention which is why they were fewer visitors compared last year. We like it though because we were able to see the collections of toys better and that we were able to shop better.

Here’s my son’s video coverage of the 2nd day – Saturday at ToyCon.

Artist Neal Adams was there too. I asked my husband if he wanted to have a poster with an autograph with him but he said it’s quite expensive for P1,000 per piece. As an artist, I thought that he would love to have it, but he said that maybe if he was still single. According to him, seeing him in person and getting near him is enough already.

Other celebrity guests includes Kelly Hu Lady Deathstrike (XMen2), Michael Copon (Blue Ranger), Dante Basco (Star Wars Rebels) and Kevin Grevioux (Raze from Underworld)

Korean Popstar Hyolyn of the group Sistar performed on stage around 5PM I think which we were not able to witness because we went home as early as 4pm.

One of the highlights of our visit was meeting cosplayers like this person who looks so much like the Walking Dead;s cast Rick Grimes. My husband really thought that he’s the real deal.
