Hap Chan Chinese Restaurant in SM Bicutan Overview
A few days ago, I found myself back in Bicutan. I’m not new in this place because I grew up near the area. My mom and I always passed by here when I was a kid.
I went to the Hap Chan Chinese Restaurant located at the Upper Ground Floor inside SM Bicutan.
The restaurant is perfect for an intimate gathering, dining solo or just hanging out with families and friends. They have their own comfort room too so you don’t need to go out the area.
Hap Chan has been around for a long time now, way back it only served Filipino-Chinese favorites: Mami, congee and dim sum. And now, it has a lot of new dishes in their menu.
Without further ado, here are the dishes served to us during our visit:
First on the list is the Yang Chow rice (P290). To experience an authentic Chinese treat, Yang Chow rice should always be included in your list. Hap Chan Yang Chow rice did not disappoint.
Another rice variety that I also enjoyed is the Minced Beef Fried Rice (P230). To be honest, I prefer this more than the Yang Chow that’s why you should try this too and tell me which one do you like more.
We tried these Dimsums too. I ate two pieces of this Hakaw (P125) and I can’t wait to go back and try it again. Hakaw is my fave dimsum, I can eat a whole order of this, if only I’m not thinking of the other people who will try it too I can eat the whole serving hahaha.
Next is the chicken feet (P105), I am used to the Filipino style (adobo variant) of chicken feet so this is the least favorite of mine. My co-bloggers on the other hand, liked it.
This spareribs with tausi (P100) is also just okay for me too.
Then this assorted cold cuts (P430) were also served on our table. I enjoyed the roasted pork asado, lechon macau, and quikiam. It also include jellyfish and century eggs.
For the main dish, we had this Hap Chan Crispy Fried Chicken (P438) that is already perfect even without a sauce. This dish is marinated for 12 hours and that’s the reason why it tastes good. The serving includes fried chips on the side.
Next is the Fried Squid Salt and Pepper (P300). This is my favorite among all the other main dishes. I will definitely order this once we go back to Hap Chan with my family. It was still crunchy even after 30 minutes.
We also had the usual Chinese dishes: Sweet and Sour Pork (P305) and Beef with Brocolli (P280). These two is also our family’s fave dishes to order whenever we are in a Chinese restaurant.
Hap Chan’s serving is really a good value for your money in my opinion. Hindi ka mabibitin.
For the noodles, we tried this Mixed Meat Canton (P240). This dish alone will make you feel full. You’ll get a complete meal with this one. There’s meat, seafood, carbohydrates and vegetables all in one dish.
For desserts, we had butchi (P65), Chilled Taho Mango Sago (P75) and black and white gulaman (P75).
The butchi is a must try here as well as the mango sago. I am not a fan of black gulaman so this one is just okay for me.
If you are dining solo, don’t worry Hap Chan offers a complete dish that is good for one. Just like this one. The price ranges from P175 – P190.
It has a plain rice, chopsuey, lumpiang shanghai and butchi and even comes with a glass of iced tea.
Hap Chan, also offers group meals that you can choose from for your family. If you are looking for a place to dine in after graduation, a place to hold a group meeting, a place to spend an intimate birthday party with family, I suggest that you go to Hap Chan and try them.
If you want to just order their food offerings and have it at home or somewhere else, you can also order their Party Trays that are already good for 8-10 persons.
For people in the South, visit Hap Chan at SM Bicutan, SM Southmall or at SM Dasmarinas.
