Easy to Bake Chocolate Chip Cookies for Baon
Starting this month of July, my son is now spending the whole day at school and so my problem of what to give him for snacks and lunch have come. My son is a foodie, he can eat whatever you give him unless it’s in the list of the forbidden food because of his G6PD. His teachers sometimes tell me that when Ren finishes his food, he usually check his classmates baon and ask for some (grabe di sya nahihiya hahaha). Kaya dinadagdagan ko talaga baon nya para di mabitin. Kaya naman ang lola nyo hirap na hirap mag-isip ng ipapabaon minsan.Β
I’m happy to have a baker friend to teach me how to bake simple “pang baon” goodies. I know that there are a lot of videos on YouTube that I can watch and follow but I still prefer an actual experience. Besides I want a professional to help me do it ’cause I’m afraid to ruin the creation. At least pag marunong na yung kasama mo alam nya na ano iaadjust at gagawin. Nakakahinayang kasi makasira ng pagkain.
So last week, together with my baking partner Kitchen Aid mini, I went to their house for my baking session class.
We decided to bake chocolate chip cookies. Here are the ingredients.
We used the Kitchen Aid mini to mix the ingredients. My friend said she prefers it compared to her existing mixer. She said it’s quieter than hers. It’s easy to operate and feels powerful. It was able to hold at least 2 dozen cookie dough and maybe more if we added more of the ingredients.
-
- 1 c butter
-
- 1/2 c white sugar
-
- 1 c light brown sugar
-
- 2 eggs
-
- 3 1/2 c all purpose flour
-
- 1/2 tbsp salt
-
- 1 tsp baking powder
-
- 1 tsp baking soda
-
- 2 tsp vanilla extract – use McCormick
- 3 1/2 c semi-sweet chocolate chips
-
- Whisk the Flour, Baking Powder, Baking Soda and Salt (set aside)
-
- Put butter and sugar on the Kitchen Aid mixer then set it in a medium (1) speed wait until it becomes light and fluffy.
-
- Add eggs one a time
-
- While on low speed, add in flour mixture gradually
-
- Fold in chocolate chips.
-
- Use an ice cream scoop to get some of the mixture and then put it on a pan. Make sure that there’s enough space for each cookies.
-
- Bake for 12-15 mins
- Let it cool in a cooling rack and serve
Here are the cookies before placing them in the oven.
We baked it for approximately 15 minutes.
Here’s the finished product:
Of course, I got to bring home some of the cookies we baked.
Thanks to my friend Dyann of Cupcake Babies for all the help. She makes not only wonderful, good looking personalized cakes but most of all they’re yummy, moist and has the perfect amount of sweetness. You can place your order on her Facebook page –Β www.facebook.com/cupcakebabies
When I arrived at the house, I put the cookies in the refrigerator and the next day Ren brought it to school for his baon/snacks.
He said that it’s soft, chewy and yummy! He’s requesting more of it next time.
Stay tuned for my video while baking.
I am also excited to bake my own goodies using my Kitchen Aid Mini soon.
