Cleanliness is next to Godliness
I am happy to stay in the Metro during Holyweek. I was able to witness and take pictures of the almost empty streets.
Ever since we transferred here in Cavite and I discovered The Feast Alabang, I don’t like going on vacation every Holy Week, because I love attending their recollection at the Filinvest Tent.
I saw some pictures that there was a long traffic in north expressway last Maundy Thursday. Well that’s expected and that’s one of the reasons why I am glad we did not go anywhere far.
It’s a tradition of every Catholic to go on a Visita Iglesia and visit nearby churches. It is our way to commemorate what happened during Jesus’ time and reflect on it by going back to the stations of the cross.
I am a proud Catholic (although there are some teachings that I don’t agree), but I still remain faithful to my religion. For me there’s no sense changing your religion because we only have one God and religion doesn’t need to divide us.
Anyway, this post is about the trash that the faithful leave on the site they went to.
I saw some photos posted by Rappler today
This kind of view is expected on every get together, rallies and even religious celebrations here in the Metro.
It is a sore in the eyes isn’t it?
When are we going to change? Why is it so hard for us to keep our trash and/or look for a trash can to put it there properly.
Yung mentalidad na may maglilinis naman nyan okay lang…. kelan kaya mawawala?
Then we keep on whining to our government when there’s a storm and our area get flooded. We always complain that they are not doing something for our environment.
This kind of problem cannot be solved by our government alone. Kahit ilang batas ang gawin kung walang nasunod, wala ding silbi.
We need to have self discipline.
Parents should be the one to set a good example to their kids. Teachers can teach your kids at school about proper garbage disposal but if the kids don’t see you doing it at home or at other places, they will still follow your wrong doings.
If the kids will get the habit of putting their trash in their pocket then they will continue to do it until they grow older. The world will be a better place if this happens.
WAKE UP Pinoy! If we want this country to be like Singapore or Japan then we need to do something about it now.
