Chickilicious: Taiwan’s Best Chicken Steak and Tea Shop is Now in the Philippines
Our family loves to dine out every weekend. On weekdays, We always stay at home and it’s only during weekend that we go out and relax a little bit.
Our favorite thing to do is filling up our tummies with food. We have tried a lot of fast food and restaurants already and we have a list of our all time favorites. But, we are always open to new restaurants to make our food adventures more exciting.
Last Sunday, our family were invited to the grand opening of Chickilicious. It is located at Sea Residences, SM Mall of Asia Complex, Pasay City. It is just in front of Building E (trivia: I worked in this orange building before).
Chickilicious is considered as Taiwan’s Best Chicken Steak and Tea Shop. According to their Operation Head Mr. Jason Sy, all the ingredients are imported from Taiwan (except the chicken). It is fresh and not frozen.
There were a lot of people already when we arrived, the area is quite small and we can’t find a seat. I’m glad that most of the customers are ordering food for take-out so after a few seconds we were able to find a vacant area.
Mr. Jayson Sy, the Operation Head of Chickilicious asked us to try some of their best sellers. These are some of the food prepared for us.
Pizza Chickilicious (P150.00) for my son. We were surprised that he finished this huge serving of chicken. I tasted it and I like that they are generous with the cheese on top. The chicken is crispy on the outside and tender and juicy inside.
Crispy Lemonade Chickilicous ( P110) with black pepper flavoring for me. I like that it is tasty and the black pepper is a perfect choice for the zesty taste of lemon from the chicken.
This is the Golden Fried Chickilicous (P125) with chili powder for my husband who likes something spicy. This one is so crispy, but for my husband it is not that spicy.
We were surprised to see that the sizes of their chicken are really HUGE. My husband said that we don’t need to ask for a thigh or breast part or any other big part to satisfy our cravings. Perfect for meat lovers.
According to Jason, Chickilicious is a kiosk at Taiwan and that people eat it while walking or standing. It is really not a restaurant or fast food type area. One order can be shared by two people.
Next time, I would like to try their other special flavored chickens: Choco Demon Chickilicious, Pizza and Takoyaki Chickilicious. They also have unique snacks that I would like to try next time too. They have Baked Cheese French Fries, Crispy Century Egg, Crispy Squid, Sweet Honey Bun, Sweet Potato Fries, Taiwanβs Green Beans and Taiwan Sweet Cake.
Their teas are good too. Unlike other tea shops, they prepare their teas while you order. So it’s like one tea bag per order. They do not store the teas in one huge stainless container. My favorite is the Rainbow Jelly Lychees Juice.
Chickilicious is a nice place for families who have big appetite and those who are adventurous and would like to try something new.
Thank you Chickilicious for making our tummies happy.
