I still love the Philippines!
I know, it’s been a while since I posted here. I was really affected by the hostage taking tragedy that happened in Manila last Monday. I already made a draft post stating my dismay to the Manila Police SWAT team and to the current administration but I decided not to post it. Why? because I read a lot of angry post and comment from Hongkong Citizen and as a Filipino I am really hurt.
They said enough, and I decided not to add anymore to those hurtful words. I posted my dismay to the SWAT team and to President Aquino at my Facebook wall because my account is in private and only my friends can read it, but I can’t post the same here since I have some foreigner readers.
Although I will not say bad words to our Government Officials, I will not also praise them for what they’ve done.
I sincerely apologize to the Hongkong Citizens for what happened. I understand your pain and anger, since I will feel the same if we were the victims.
I am just deeply hurt for the words I had read saying that we Filipinos can’t live without other countries help. Somehow it is very true, but I want to remind you that if not for our Domestic Helpers, you can’t also earn money since no one will do the household choirs and take care of your children while you’re going to work. You should consider Filipinos as your partner in life. We give you our service and you give us your money in return.
The tragic thing that happened last Monday gave us a valuable lesson, and I am praying that our Government will take this case seriously and will try their VERY BEST not to make the same mistake again in the future (I am crossing my finger and even my toes).
Please give the Philippines one more chance to prove our self and to stand up again from this miseries.
You want the victim of the hostage taking tragedy to receive justice and we also want that to be given to them.
My family is saving money to go to HongkongΒ 4 years from now, and I hope that if that time comes the Hongkong citizens broken hearts have already healed.
LET THERE BE PEACE!!!
what ever happens in life we should always remember to live life to the fullest

It’s really unfortunate that the hostage-taking crisis had to happen and in PNoy’s time at that! I just hope things will be forgotten (and forgiven) soon! I’ve never been to Hongkong, too, and just like you, I wouldn’t want to bear the brunt of the Chinese people’s anger.
