Bag of Beans at Tagaytay
As early as 7am ang alinsangan na ng panahon ngayon, and because of that I am missing the cool breeze of Tagaytay.
During our stay there last month, we decided to try the famous Bag of Beans before we went home.
I heard a lot of positive review of this restaurant and I wanted to know for myself if I have the same taste buds as the people who are raving for their food LOL.
We came from Mushroom Burger before we went to Bag of Beans so we were still full. Noel and I decided to just order their best seller just to satisfy our curiosity.
Bag of Beans Hot Cocoa is perfect for Tagaytay’s cold weather. It had warmed our tummy. It was delicious and had a rich chocolate flavor. It was not too sweet too. Noel and I will surely come back for this.
Bag of Beans Hot Chocolate Php 115.00
We also ordered the famous Shepherd’s Pie
I asked Noel why it’s called Shepherd’s Pie and he said that usually they use lamb meat to create this dish. I haven’t tasted lamb meat before so I am not sure if they really used lamb meat or beef with this dish (can’t identify the difference LOL).
Shepherd’s Pie Php 130.00
To be honest we don’t like this pie that much. I don’t think we will order this again if ever we go back here. Maybe next time, we will try their breakfast menu instead.
I didn’t know that there are two Bag of Beans at Tagaytay already. The one we have visited was the newest one near Tagaytay Rotonda. The older one is bigger and I think cozier based on the pictures I saw on the web. I hope we can visit the older Bag of Beans restaurant next time.

Bag of Beans is one of our fave restos in Tagaytay. The ambiance at the first branch is much nicer though. As for the food, everything tastes good for me. I also prefer the resto’s raisin bread vs the one from Baguio Country Club. No kidding 🙂

I’ve been to Tagaytay a lot of times, sometimes just to have breakfast or lunch, basta nagkayayaan kami ni hubby, but I don’t know why I’ve never visited Bag of Beans. Will keep this in mind the next time we go there.

I got curious with their Shepherd’s pie. What it is about it that you didn’t like? I haven’t tried them myself yet, but I heard it’s a best seller. Bakit kaya?

I regret not being able to try the restaurants at Tagaytay; we were in a hurry back then. And sayang that the shepherd’s pie does not taste as good as it looks!

That hot chocolate looks so inviting.. I miss going to tagaytay for the cool weather… Hmm, by the way, If you can’t identify the taste of lamb then for sure there’s not much lamb in that dish dear.. Lamb has this rich earthy flavor that’s very different from Beef that we’re used to. Trust me, you’d know if said dish has lamb in just one bite hehehe…
Mommy Levy says
I wish makatikim ako ng lamb soon

I remember Bag of Beans being one of the first concept restos in Tagaytay. And now the city is filled with hole in the walls. Love Tagaytay!
