Our Family Dinner at Abe Restaurant in SM Mall of Asia

I have mentioned in my previous post that last week we had dinner at Abe’s Restaurant at SM Mall of Asia.

I saw the post of my food blogger friend Peachy of The Peach Kitchen of this restaurant and I drooled on her pictures while reading it.

Abé’s Restaurant is a Filipino Restaurant serving Kapampangan specialties.

We know that kapampangans serve delicious foods so we were expecting a lot from this restaurant.

We let my son choose the dish that he likes to eat.

He saw the Sinigang sa Ube (purple yam) in a cardboard ad on our table and that is what he asked us to order.  We were not yet that hungry so we just ordered one dish plus 3 steamed rice.

I know that Sinigang is cooked in various ways but this is the first time I ever heard of sinigang with ube.

The serving was huge (hindi kami nabitin).

The soup was color purple when it was served on our table, the photo just did not give justice to it.

The taste is very child friendly (not too sour with a hint of sweetness because of the purple yam).  Ren loves the soup. Unfortunately, my husband still prefers the spicy sinigang.

The meat is tender and the vegetables are well cooked. I forgot the exact price of this dish, and their menu online is not yet updated.  Actually, I can’t find any review for this dish yet.

After our meal, my most awaited part arrived – the dessert.

I ordered the Sikreto ni Maria (P165.00)

On top is a melted macapuno flavored ice cream topped with panutsa and underneath was mango slices and suman. I love this dessert.

The mango is ripe and it is not too sweet nor too sour. The suman is sticky.

There are a lot of tastes mixing in this dessert, which maybe the reason why it the best selling dessert of Abe Restaurant.

Overall, we enjoyed our dinner at Abe Restaurant.  I wish we can go back to try the other dishes on their menu soon.
