Our Luxurious Staycation at Solaire Resort & Casino
Thank God it’s Friday!!! That is what I was secretly shouting last Friday. That is because Ren’s first grading finals ended that day and also because it is the day we have been waiting for- A staycation at Solaire Resort and Casino.
This staycation is actually for Ren. He will be turning 7 years old on August 20, and he likes hotel staycation. We decided to go there before he turns 7 because I read that 6 years old and below are free to have the buffet breakfast at Fresh (hahaha).
What I like with Solaire is that they have a free shuttle service from Mall of Asia (and other areas). When we arrived at the hotel, there was a scanner at the entrance to check the bags. I was wearing flip flops when we went there and the guards asked me if we will check-in, when I said yes, they asked a security to come with us.
At first, I thought that my flip flops was the reason why they were being so strict to us but they told me that it was because we have a minor with us. From the entrance, in order to get to the reception desk we will pass by the concierge, rewards club area and the casino where slots machine and other games can be seen. I needed to explain to Ren that only adults are allowed to play there and it is forbidden for kids to go there.
Checking-in in this hotel was a breeze. The staff are very friendly and treats you like a V.I.P. ( I feel like a Donya here hahaha).
This is the hallway.
When we entered the room, these things greeted us:
Welcome Message (yes I get it a lot… confusing my name to a name of a guy, so I understand if they put Mister there)
Welcome Treats: A bowl of fruits and some sweets.
My son immediately hopped on the bed (even before we took a picture), that is why it looks already crumpled.
The coffee maker and mini ref were hidden inside this closet.
There is a deposit box inside the cabinet, bedroom slippers and hangers.
Noel and I decided to leave the laptop at home because we don’t want to be online. So I have no idea if their internet connection is fast (but I think it is).
What I like the most of this deluxe room beside the king size and soft bed was the tub inside the spacious bathroom. Not all hotels have a bathtub, so we really appreciate that Solaire have it.
They also have a complete set of vanity items.
What I don’t like on the bathroom is that they don’t have a bidet besides the toilet bowl (only tissue).
After putting our clothes inside the cabinet, Ren and I decided to check out the pool area. So far, this is the best and biggest hotel pool that we have seen. There are few guests already there when we arrived (mostly foreigners), but the pool is still spacious for all of us.
Unfortunately, we could not find the shower area near the pool. Ren and I took our shower in our room.
When we arrived, Noel was having his well deserved me time in the tub. When Ren saw him, he immediately hopped in and joined his daddy.
My niece who was working there visited us and brought some pastries for Ren 🙂 We love it!!!
Around 7PM, we decided to have our dinner at SM Mall of Asia. I was glad that we saw Abe Restaurant and tried the dessert “sikreto ni Maria” (will post that separately).
We also went to Toy Kingdom and looked for transformers toys on sale. Yes we only buy toys on Sale 🙂
We went back to the hotel around 10PM, and oh boy the hotel lobby was full. I remembered that it was payday, so I think that was the reason why there were a lot of people playing.
Our stay includes a welcome drink at the Dragon bar. So, before we went to our room we dropped by at the bar and took our welcome drinks. I ordered watermelon and mango juice for my boys.
We were surprised though that when we arrived at our room, it was already cleaned. They have changed the wet towel at the CR and even put a new set of chocolates and polvoron. I remembered that I did not put any sign at the door to clean it. That feels weird that someone entered our room without us asking for it. But I think it was part of their service to exceed our expectation.
The next day, Ren woke up early (he said he wanted to go to the pool again). Unfortunately, the pool is only open for 8am until 7pm so we need to wait for 2 more hours. He just kept himself busy playing with his new transformers toy.
When it’s already 8am, we immediately changed our clothes and went to the pool (this time with our photographer – Noel)
We stayed at the pool for only an hour because we were already starving. After we changed, we excitedly went to Fresh to have our buffet breakfast.
At the entrance, we were asked how old is Ren, when I said he is 6 years old they did not ask for any documents to prove it. I was impressed that they trust their guests.
At Fresh, there were lots of cuisines to choose from. I did not know most of those food. My son’s plate consist of bacon, scrambled eggs, siomai, chicken covered in oatmeal, corned beef and garlic rice. He also got a glass of yoghurt which he said tasted like mayonnaise (because its sour hahaha).
Noel and I decided to sample things we were not that familiar with. What I don’t like is that they only have one variant of fresh juice. I don’t have any options to choose.
Fresh Restaurant is beside the casino area. We have noticed that only a few were playing at this time of the day. Slots machines were empty. My husband encouraged me to try to play.
We don’t know how to do it, so I asked the concierge. After briefly explaining it to me, I looked around and saw a lady doing it. It’s a good thing I only entered 100 pesos, because I really don’t get this game. I think I will not do it again after losing my 100 pesos in just 5 minutes hahaha.
… and in every hotel staycation, we have an obligatory family picture 🙂
We checked out at 11:30am and went out the hotel recharge, revitalized and happy.
Thank you so much Solaire Hotel for the special treatment.

Lakas nga maka-donya! I don’t like it when bathrooms don’t have bidets, too, kasi ayokong gumamit ng tissue. But aside from that, your stay in Solaire is envy-worthy. 😀
