Mama, you need to work!
I usually post our #EksenaSaBahay on my personal Facebook account. It is usually a funny short conversation from my two boys and I just want to share one such conversation with everybody.
This is my first time that I will be posting this particular #EksenaSaBahay with you here. I felt sharing it here because today is Labor Day.
Most of the time, I wake up 2-3 hours before Ren. It is because I do some household chores before he wakes up.
When he goes down, he usually sees me doing my thing on the laptop (reading, facebooking, researching and blogging).
He sometimes asks me what I am doing, and my frequent answer is that I am working.
A while ago, this is our conversation while I was washing the clothes.
Ren: Mama, you need to work! (then he opens the laptop for me)
Me: But I am already working
Ren: No you’re not!
Me: Yes, I am working… washing the clothes is working
Ren: but why?
Me: It is because I am putting my mind and strength on what I am doing. (that is just the first thing that popped out of my mind at that time) How about you what do you think is your work?
Ren: Playing Mine Craft. I want to play Mine Craft.
Sarap maging bata…. laro lang trabaho nila 🙂
You see, this particular scene was when I realized that there is no such thing as a stay at home mom or dad.
Moms and Dads at the house should still be called “work at home moms/dads” whether they are earning from it or not because whatever they are doing: cleaning the house, fixing the gutter, cooking, washing the dishes; these are all still considered as work and that they are still doing something.
Okay, that is just me… masyado lang akong literal 😛
This labor day, I just want to salute all the moms and dads out there who are working hard for their family whether you work from home or work from the office.
Pat your back for a job well done, Happy Labor day!
