Requirements for applying a Working Child Permit from DOLE

I already have a BIR Certificate of Registration for my blogging career and now my son who is sometimes with me on campaigns already had his working child permit from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE). Yahoo!

I was planning to get him a DOLE permit 3 years ago, but I was not able to do it because the project that he was supposed to do on his own got canceled, and yeah to be honest applying for one looks hard to do since I don’t know where is the DOLE’s office. That is why I was glad that a client volunteered to apply for my son’s permit for us. This client just asked us to pass all the necessary requirements.

Here are the requirements for applying a Working Child Permit from DOLE

✅ Proof of schooling (Certificate of enrollment/Id/Report Card)
✅ PSA copy of Birth Certificate
✅ Medical Certificate issued by a licensed physician showing the physician’s full name, signature, and license number (valid within 1 month from the date of issuance
✅ 2 passport size Photograph of the child
✅ Valid id of parent/guardian
✅ Bank Certificate
✅ WCP Application Form

When the client asked me to prepare all of these documents, I was glad I already enrolled Ren to a new school that he will go to for the school year 2020-2021. I got the proof of schooling easily.

For the medical certificate, I looked for a nearby pediatrician that can do online consultation and can issue the medical certificate after the meet up.

Regarding the bank certificate, I asked first the client if we can use my son’s mutual fund account or his Cooperative account as proof that he has an account for his money, but unfortunately, they did not accept it. They really require us to apply for a bank account to be able to get a bank certificate.

I tried applying at online banking -Security Bank and promised that they will call us to process our request for a new account but they did not call us for more than a week. So, we decided to just visit the nearest branch in our place and apply personally. Good thing the process was fast, it’s just took us 30 minutes I think and we were able to get the bank certificate immediately.

Funny thing was that the next day, Security Bank contacted us to attend the online confirmation of the account we were trying to have online after a week. Kung kelan naka-open na, saka naman sila tumatawag, errrrr.

So yeah, my son now has his working permit, yassss!!! I just hope we’ll be able to use it for new and more campaigns this year.
