Connected Women Meet-UP
I got curious with this group called CONNECTED WOMEN when I saw some friends post about it on social media.
I like to join mommy/women groups because it makes me feel I’m not alone in this journey. I got to learn from their stories (triumphs and rants), I learn new things, I got to meet new people and it’s a medium where I could ask questions and get different kinds of answer based on their own experiences.

They do meet-ups simultaneously in different areas to meet each other personally. I chose the Connected Women Alabang area for my first meet-up because the topic is about Taxation.
Our venue was at Tu’s Restaurant in Westgate Alabang. The time indicated in the invite was 6 – 9pm. I arrived early (around 4:30pm) because I saw that there’s a limit of 25pax on the venue (natakot akong hindi makakuha ng seat haha). I strolled around CW Home Depot first to kill some time. I went inside the venue before 5:30PM and waited for them to arrive.
And because I was the early bird, I got a gift pack hahaha.
The event started around 7pm with an opening prayer and an ice breaker which is telling something about yourself in 30 seconds! YES! I repeat 30 seconds hahaha. It was called elevated introduction wherein you should give the important details like your name, who you are, what you do in life and your brand color.
To those who personally know me, you know that I’m not into public speaking (kaya nga I prefer to write). I feel comfortable with the group but still when I was in front and I saw them looking at me, I felt shy and terrified hahaha
I don’t know if they remembered what I said, but if you are reading this let me introduce myself again in writing hahaha.
Hi, I am Levy Martinez the author of this blog mommylevy.com. I’ve been blogging for a decade already and my niche is parenting, home and living, kids stuff etc. I give tips and ideas on places to visit for bargain items, info of schools, Developmental Pediatrician, Therapy Center, Homeschool Providers and a lot more. My brand colors as you can see are green and yellow (sunshine on the letter O from “mommy).
The venue is free to use as long as we will order food.
Here are the food I ordered:
I like their pot roast beef, I was able to finish it quickly because I was soooo hungry already when it arrived.
For desert, I ordered this famous thing in their menu called half baked cookies (with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on the side). It was served hot so it’s better to mix the 2 together. I was not able to finish the whole serving because it was too sweet for my taste buds (considering that I have a sweet tooth already).
After the ice breaker, our guest speaker was introduced. She is a Certified Public Accountant and is now practicing her work freelance. Her topic as I have mentioned is about Professional/Freelancers Taxation.
It was an interesting topic for me because I want to do my own tax filing in the next quarter. I don’t want to pay for accountant’s service fee or Taxumo’s platform anymore.
The event ended around 10pm (we also had giveaways by the way). My soul is happy for meeting these empowered women that I did not notice the time.
