ING Philippines: All-Digital Banking
“TIME is Gold” as the saying goes. That’s why we should learn when to spend it wisely just like our hard earned money.
Time + Money is what I think this bank company has in mind when they came up with all digital banking.
ING Bank’s retail banking service is fully anchored on a digital platform. No physical banks, no long queues, and no tellers. All banking transactions will be done on smartphones. Perfect!!!
The time you’ll use in going to the bank, waiting for your turn can now be spent to play with your kids, clean your home, earn extra income or any other productive activities.
Since I am now doing almost everything online (paying bills and shopping), ING Philippines will help me with my check clearing because I don’t need to go to the bank anymore to deposit it.
And that for me is their best feature!
You just need to take a photo of your check and deposit it any time of the day. Hassle free, yahoo!!!
BTW, I trust this app because one of the developer is my neighbor, cool right?!
The app also features a 24/7 chat feature where customers can inquire about various services.
PLUS, another exciting news is that they offer bigger annual interest rate compared to other banks (2.5% vs 0.25% – 0.5% of other banks)
HOW TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT?
- Download the app
iOS: http://bit.ly/INGApple
Android: http://bit.ly/INGAndroidApp - Fill up the form (your information)
- Take a selfie
- Take a pic of your valid ID (Passport, Driverβs License, and UMID)
- Take a pic of your billing address
That’s it! You can now have an account number and you can start depositing money via check deposit or cash (I tried GCASH to put some money and it worked, real time!)
For now they don’t have a physical card and ATM machines to withdraw money. So I suggest to transfer your money from ING to your other bank. Here are the banks that have ING in their system:
Citibank, East West Banking Corporation, Metropolitan Bank & Trust Company, Philippine National Bank, Philippine Savings Bank, Robinsons Bank Corporation, The Hongkong & Shanghai Banking Corporation, United Coconut Planters Bank, and UnionBank.
I don’t need it’s bills payment option because I have another app for that so I’m okay with what ING can offer right now, but of course it would be nice if they can provide that on their app next.
