I lost 5lbs at C-Lium Lose More Live More Bloggers Edition Challenge
After a month of committing myself to change my lifestyle in order to be healthy again by losing weight, me, together with other bloggers had our weigh in last Friday at Medicard in Makati to check if we were successful in our journey to stay fit. (Read my Journey here: Part1, Part2, Part3 & Part4)
Just like the first time, our weight and blood were checked first, we were told to have a fasting the night before. I was excited and nervous at the same time with the result. I felt that I am lighter now compared to the time we started this journey but I don’t know what the numbers will show on the weighing scale.
The nutritionist told me that after a month, I should lose at least 1kg or 2.2lbs. I was so happy that I exceed that and have lost 5lbs after the weigh in. Jumping for joy is an under statement.
How did I lost weight? Well, to tell you that story, we must first start from the very beginning.
The Gain
After giving birth to my son, I had all the excuses in the world to eat like a pig. I was thinking that since I was breast feeding, I should eat for two persons. I only breastfed my son for 4 months but unfortunately the eating habit didn’t stop. It even got worse when I decided to be a stay at home mom and be in front of the computer most of the day looking for ways to earn a little while at home. Eating a lot plus a sedentary lifestyle made me gain a total of 30lbs from my normal weight.

The Realization
All my clothes didn’t fit in anymore. I was tired of being teased a “losyang”. I can no longer use the “breastfeeding” excuse or “I have just given birth” excuse for being fat because my son is already 5 years old.
The Motivation
The invasion of Zombies!!!!
via: ruleofthedice.com |
I love watching zombie films and TV series. Sometimes I get nightmares and this made me think that if ever a zombie outbreak will happen and I am not fit to run for my life when it finally comes, then I am dead already from the start. I can’t even protect my family from these creatures if this will happen.
Wrong Move
There were lots of slimming pills and treatment in the market that promised to deliver good results in minimal time. I tried drinking slimming coffee for a while. Yes, I did lose some weight just after two weeks of continuously drinking it everyday but it also had a side effect. My head began to ache, and my heart would sometimes palpitate and my skin became very dry. I have lost some weight doing that but It made me feel weak also.
I also tried Lipo Sculpt Cavitation, when a friend gave me her vouchers, but unfortunately I have used it only once since I am afraid that it would also have a side effect on my body because of the sound waves.
The Challenge
When I found out that I am obese with a BMI of 28 and that I have a high cholesterol level, The nutritionist told me that I needed to lose 20lbs from my current weight to have a normal BMI. I realized that if I will not commit to lose weight NOW then it might be too late for me. Losing weight becomes harder as we grow older and I am already on my 30’s that is why I need to move fast.
I started eating right but not to the point of starving myself to death. I drink C-Lium 30 minutes before breakfast every morning for my fiber supplement and it helps me feel fuller throughout the day. This is the same reason why I eat less food.
I tried to join Fun Runs even before the challenge, but I was not consistent doing it and it happens only once a month so my body doesn’t get used to moving a lot. Now I make it a habit to walk around the village for at least 30 minutes per day.
Every night we watch old episodes of “The Biggest Loser”, and the contestants motivates me to exercise even more.
I tried Zumba before, but my body got used to it so I stopped. I also tried Crossfit but its a hardcore training exercise so I began lifting some weights and go up and down our stairs for at least 10 minutes per day.
NOW 140lbs |
The Change
I felt that my immune system and whole body is quite stronger now. I can even run together with my hyperactive son, and there was even a time that that he felt tired first than me. My day is incomplete without exercise anymore. My body is used to having sweat and burning calories now.
The Reward
I lost 5lbs after 3 weeks of proper diet and exercise, and I am looking forward to lose more, even after this challenge. Even though the physical changes is not so obvious as of now, I can say that I feel lighter than before. It feels great!
The best part on my journey to be fit and healthy, is having a normal cholesterol level.
What I learned through this Journey?
When you want to lose weight, think of a long-term goal and don’t give in to false promises of “get slim fast’ diet programs. Losing weight should start in changing your mindset and lifestyle. Just like being rich, it is more rewarding if you work hard to reach your goal rather than trying your luck at winning the Lotto.
Now, I don’t want to waste the 5 lbs I lost by eating like a pig again and going back to my sedentary lifestyle. I want to reach my 120lbs goal by the end of this year so that the “losing weight” will no longer be on my New Year’s resolution next year.

congratulations! i used to take C-Lium when our company nurse recommended it to me. I used to have difficulty in my bowel movement and she said this is good because of its fiber content. It was really effective.

Such an inspiring journey of getting fit. Yes, I was exactly like you Pre and Post pregnancy pigging out like there is no tomorrow until I realised it wasn’t giving me any good at all. So I changed and work hard. Kudos to you and to others who continue to share their fitness story to inspire every Mum out there.

You’re such an inspiration! I can totally relate to you. I ate like a pig too after giving birth. My excuse: I’m breastfeeding so I have to eat more. I breastfed my daughter for 2 1/2 years and I’m just starting my journey in regaining my pre-pregnancy shape. But, unfortunately, it’s hard because I’m already used to eat more than what my body really did.
I hope C-lium Fibre will help me in my dilemma.
