Update on former Pres. Cory Aquino’s funeral

The whole nation (Philippines) is grieving for the death of our former President and our democracy icon Pres. Corazon “Cory” Cojuangco Aquino. I haven’t seen the burial of her husband Benigno “Ninoy” Aquino before because I am still a child when this happened (I’m around 4-5 yrs. old then). But, for those who have seen it, they said that the same scenario had happened when the coffin of Pres.Cory passed by Edsa-Ayala Makati a while ago around 12:00 this afternoon. The funeral was transfered from La Salle Greenhills to Manila Cathedral. Whether rich or poor, young or old, gave their last tribute to Tita Cory by throwing flowers and yellow confettis while the cortege is passing.

Even in her death she wants every one of us to be united.

I really adore this woman, she loved the Philippines so much. On her last SONA (I think 20 yrs. ago) she said humbly that her term is over, she asks everyone of us to vote fairly and clean on the coming election at that time. It sound very different from Pres. Arroyo’s last SONA.

If the present administration will not go down to it’s current position on the coming election, then we must do something about it. If another People Power is needed, for them to go down then it must be done. If we let them reign for the second time, then the problem will be ourselves (Filipinos), we must continue what our former Pres. Corazon Aquino started “democracy and freedom”.

We must not forget what she taught us and we should let it be remembered by the coming generations.
